In my mind, there are five key points you need to look at in order to start looking for that perfect jogging stroller.

Step 1: Determine your Use for the Stroller: Jogging, Running, Everyday Stroller or all of the above? These are good question's to define right at the start because the answers to these questions will narrow your search. If you are looking for a stroller for use in all daily application's as well as jogging, you may want to look at a stroller with a front swivel wheel that locks so when you are trying to do a tight turn in the mall you can, or if you are jogging, you can lock the front wheel for ease of use. The Baby Jogger City Series is a good all-around stroller. If you are just looking for a dedicated jogging stroller, you wouldn't want a swivel wheel and may want a few more features in your stroller. The Bob Deluxe Sport Utility Stroller is a great dedicated jogging stroller as it provides more shock absorption for your baby during your runs.

Step 2: Determine your Price Range: Money Talks $$$After step 1, you will immediately want to figure out your price range before going any further. Jogging Strollers can cost you around $100 all the way up to $500 or more so it's a good idea to know your budget and stick with it. Of course the more expensive strollers give you more features, better suspension, ease of transport, but you can also find great strollers for around the $100 mark if that's your budget. Just last year the Baby Trend Expedition Stroller was voted #1 as the best buy for lower priced strollers (approx $100). If you have a bit more you can spend, Maclaren Strollers give you features galore with adjustable safety bar, multiple positions for your baby to recline, and an adjustable arm rest.

Step 3: Size Does MatterYou know your stroller type, you know your budget, now you need to dig into the details of the product and make sure that your stroller fits your baby. Every jogging stroller is made to hold up to a certain weight whether its up to 30 lbs or up to 50 lbs. How long you would like your jogging stroller to fit your baby plays a very important role in the max weight the jog stroller is build for. For example the Bob Ironman stroller max capacity is 70 lbs vs. the Schwinn Free Runner stroller max capacity is 50 lbs. Do your homework and check the specs on the jogging strollers you are looking at.

Step 4: Wheel SizeStroller Wheels come in 12", 16" and 20". The bigger the wheel the tougher they are. If you are planning on light jogging a 12" wheel will suit you just fine, if you will be doing more intense running or off pavement running, you need to look at 16" or 20" wheels. If you are looking at a double stroller, think about going up a wheel size for more stability for your little ones. A good rule of thumb: the more intense terrain, the bigger the wheel.

Step 5: Accessorize When you buy your jogging stroller, its good to look at any Accessories you may need to go with your stroller. There are all types of accessories from bug nets to sun visors and complete covers for the winter. Like all products, some stroller models will go out of style so its good to buy your accessories soon after your jogging stroller purchase to avoid compatibility problems when models change.

Happy Jogging.

How To Choose Baby Strollers

One of the more important accessories for a parent is a baby stroller. With the many choices of strollers available in the stores today, it proves to be difficult to choose the right baby stroller for your baby. It has to be basically safe and comfortable for you and the baby and easy to open, close, maneuver and store.

There are many types of baby strollers found today like the carriage stroller which is a great first stroller and the umbrella stroller which is easy to fold and thus convenient as a secondary stroller to be used for jaunts and trips. The standard stroller is usually the primary baby stroller that comes with many features like storage basket and bumper tray.

Lightweight strollers are also great for traveling purposes but are generally high priced than its typical counterparts. The car seat/stroller combo is a great baby stroller to be used for those using the car regularly. You can go jogging taking your baby with you in the jogging stroller while tandem and side-by-side strollers are best for those having children close in age, twins or triplets. In these types of strollers, the seats are fixed next to each other, on a large, single frame.

When choosing the right baby stroller, make sure that it is sturdy, and is of quality construction. It should have all terrain wheels so that it can be used on all surfaces. There should be some safety features in the baby stroller and be comparatively easy to use by all parents. Make sure the stroller can fold and unfold easily and is rather maneuverable.
It is better to choose baby strollers that are easy to clean with removable and machine washable seat covers. Your stroller should have double wheels in the front that have two positions: full swivel for smooth surfaces or locked in one forward-facing position for rough terrain.

Brakes- Your baby stroller should have two parking brakes rather than just one. Some two wheel parking brakes are activated by a single stroke while others require two actions and have foot-operated tabs above each rear wheel. Make sure that setting the parking brake is easy and does not cause pain to your foot.

Handlebars - More expensive models have thickly cushioned handlebars. Reversible handles can swing over the top of the stroller, then be locked into a front position so baby rides facing you. Adjustable handlebars can be extended or angled to accommodate people of different heights.

Opening/Folding - It is essential that you be able to open for fold up your stroller with one hand.

Play Tray - You might want to make sure that your baby stroller has a tray where your baby can play, keep snacks, or rest their hands. To make it easier to get a squirming baby or toddler seated, the tray should be removable or swing open rather than be permanently attached to both sides.

Footrest - A footrest can help your child sit more comfortably without his or her legs dangling, but many are too low to help any but the tallest toddlers.

Make certain that the seat rim is soft and won't press uncomfortably into the back of your child's legs.

Restraint System -Get a model with a sturdy safety belt and crotch strap, which keep a baby or a toddler from slipping out. Most are made of thick nylon webbing. According to ASTM safety standards, a crotch strap should be mandatory when the waist strap is in use.

Leg holes - Carriages and strollers designed for newborns or young infants, which fully recline, must have leg holes that close so an infant can't slip through. Manufacturers use mesh or fabric shields or hinged, molded footrests that raise and clamp over the leg holes. According to the industry's voluntary standard, a stroller with leg holes that can't be closed shouldn't be able to fully recline, which is meant to prevent its use with a newborn.

Shock Absorbers - Air-filled tires or tires molded from foam can help give baby a smoother ride. So can shock absorbers--covered springs or rubber pads above the wheel assemblies. Softer suspension is a newer feature that offers a smoother ride, but a too-soft ride can come at the expense of steering control.

Fabric and Upholstery - You'll want to be able to sponge off spills and splashes and launder the upholstery without worrying about shrinking, fading, or puckering. Look for a removable seat and laundry instructions, usually on an attached tag or on printed instructions inside the packaging.

Large Shopping Basket - A roomy, easily accessible storage basket underneath the stroller makes errands with a baby much easier. Sizes of baskets vary. Choose one that's at least big enough to accommodate a diaper bag. When shopping for a stroller, press on the storage basket's floor--it shouldn't drag on the ground when loaded. Some strollers have storage pouches, with elastic top edges, in back. Don't hang any bags (including a hefty diaper bag or stroller diaper bag) on handle-bars. Follow manufacturers recommendations for all storage areas. The stroller can tip if overloaded.

About the Author: Click on this link and stroll on over to my Baby Stroller Buyer's Guide for the rest of the information you need to know about Baby Strollers.

8 Top Tips For Buying A Baby Stroller

I can guess how and why a stroller was invented. We all know that small babies have to be carried about. Mothers would certainly welcome something that would enable them to have their hands free whenever they go anywhere with the baby.

There are many brands and varieties of strollers available in the market. They are very essential for the mothers and hence before buying one it is a good idea to check out the details. Few tips are given below to guide you on your stroller-buying event.

A good stroller should not be heavy. It should be light. You can carry it everywhere, to the shopping mall, while you are traveling or simply strolling. Its weight should be about 20 pounds.
The stroller should not be large. You must be able to keep in the boot of your car even with one hand. Mothers of small babies generally have only one free hand to use. It should be easily kept away by one hand.

The stroller should be strong and durable. The babies are active and the stroller should be strong enough to keep the baby’s balance. It is useless to have a stroller that can’t keep the baby’s balance.

The stroller must have seat recliners that are adjustable, guard bars and so on. Small babies grow faster than you think and hence it should be able to support the baby at least in his growing years. Thus the stroller must be adaptable.

Safety is essential in every respect and even in the strollers. Thus, the strollers should have special features to look after the baby. Thus, straps, harness and holding bars are important in a stroller.

The baby should not be cramped in the stroller. There must be enough space for the baby to move a little. Again, there must be sufficient attachments like trays and baskets to keep the baby scuffs like feeding bottle, toys and food etc.

You must definitely consider the price. There are many companies that offer the same features at a lower price. You can check out these brands. We all know that we must never compromise on the quality for the price but it should definitely be considered.

To attract customers many manufactures offer special extras. You must consider these add ons. A stroller must have a cup holder, a sunshade, a big sturdy frame, a carry strap, reclining seat, a storage basket, a snack tray, a parent's tray and so on. Some other manufactures may offer you add ons like parent’s gear bags, bottle pockets, and adjustable handles and so on. You must compare and then decide which one to buy.

About the Author: Jackie Kent is a mother and author. Today's strollers are available in such wide range of styles and models, it is often a difficult decision to choose just the right one. Whatever type of stroller you decide to use, it is important to keep a few practical safety suggestions in mind.

Always look for a stroller with some sort of braking system. Most models have small levers near the back wheels that allow you to lock the wheels and prevent the stroller from rolling. Apply the brakes anytime you stop for more than a brief moment. Anytime you stop the stroller on an incline, remember to point the wheels away from the hill, even with the brake applied.Choose a stroller with a secure seatbelt harness. Five-point harnesses are typically much safer than a belt that only fastens around the child's waist. Seatbelts are a necessity for pushing infants, but they are just as important for bouncy toddlers and preschoolers who love to wiggle around. A safety strap that slips over your wrist is also a nice safety feature to look for to prevent runaway strollers.Test the stability of a stroller before making your decision. Most children have a hard time sitting still and you want a stroller that can handle their movement without tipping over. You can test a stroller's stability by hanging your purse over the back handles. If the stroller tips easily with the unbalanced weight, it will probably tip with our little one. Even the best strollers can be overturned, so it is still important to always face your child in the proper direction and do not allow him to lean over the sides. Each time you use your stroller, be sure it is completely open. Most folding models will make a clicking sound once the stroller is locked into place.

Avoid hanging extra items like diaper bags or purses on the stroller. Many styles include convenient storage underneath or there are a number of accessories available to carry along extra items like cups, water bottles, mobile phones, and keys.Be sure to follow general rules of public safety while pushing your child in her stroller. Always keep the stroller right by your side. Avoid stopping behind a parked car that may not see the stroller and back into it. If you have bags or packages to load into the car, remember to put your little one inside first, securely fastened in her car seat, then put away the other items.BOB strollers are one of the leading brands of quality jogging strollers.

Their strollers are available in a number of innovative designs, each as a single seat or as a duallie. BOB strollers include all the best safety features, including a wrist safety strap that attaches to the bottom axle of the stroller to prevent head injuries in a fall incident. These strollers are lightweight, easy to store, and feature state-of-the-art steering and maneuverability. BOB strollers are an excellent choice for safety, versatility, and comfort.

Top 10 Baby Stroller Safety Tips

Baby strollers are an essential part of family life. They help us parents get on with what we need to do when our children can't keep up with us. They give our children as 'safe place' to retreat to when the world gets a little too big for them. For the most part baby strollers are very safe. However as with any 'tool' there are always risks and dangers. This article will give you 10 basic safety tips for using your baby stroller to make sure that it is as safe as possible for you and your children to use.

Basic Baby stroller Safety

Be sure the stroller you're using is the right size for your child. Much like with a car seat, different sized kids need different sized strollers. This is not only for their comfort, but also for their safety. In the wrong size of stroller padding doesn't rest where it should on the child's body, hands can reach things they shouldn't, and weight isn't distributed properly which can make a stroller unbalanced.

Properly strap your child in at all times. If you start off using the belts right from the start and stick with it, you'll get no complaints from your kids. Just be sure that they are secure enough, but not too tight. The straps aren't only to keep the child from climbing out of the stroller, they also keep them from falling out if it tips severely, or hits a big rut.

If you are using a combo unit (car seat and stroller together), always double check to be sure that the car seat latches in properly.
Baby stroller maintenance

Always make sure the brake is in good working order. Regularly check all cables and pads, or latches to be sure they are working well and are free of any obstructions or dirt.

Be sure to check the wheels for problems and make sure that they are in good condition. This doesn't take much. Just be sure they are all working well, aren't wobbling too much and aren't wearing out.

OK, this may sound obvious, but always be sure all wheels are on tight. Some models of strollers - especially jogging baby strollers - have removable wheels. You need to be sure they are always secure before heading out. I once saw a woman tip her jogging stroller back to go over a curb and watched the front wheel take off down the hill after it fell off.
General Use

Most newer strollers come with many storage areas. Some of the largest are usually at the back. Be sure you do not overload these. It is really easy for an overloaded stroller to tip over backwards and toss your baby out!

Don't load heavy items on top of your child while they are in the stroller.

The same goes for hot drinks and such. Never leave hot drinks above your child on the stroller. The last thing your child needs is a 1/2 litre of screaming hot mocha java in the face!

Finally, never, ever, leave your child unattended in a stroller. This doesn't mean you have to be no more than a foot away at all times. Just be sure that either you, or another responsible adult (not child) is within easy reach at all times.
Keep these tips in mind as you go about your daily business and use your stroller. It will keep your children safer and give you more peace of mind.

About the Author: Helen Walters writes extensively on parenting issues and contributes regularly to http://www.greatbabygear home to a large selection of articles and reviews of baby strollers and more.

Baby Jogging Strollers - Get Back In Shape

There’s no doubt about it -- having a baby changes your life. New parents often find that they have to give up some aspects of their lifestyle and may have trouble fitting in all their activities. Jogging, however, is one activity that can be continued after baby is born. Thanks to baby jogging strollers Mom and Dad can fit in their exercise routine by combining their jogging with an outing with baby.

A baby jogging stroller is instantly recognizable by its 3-wheel design. This makes it suitable for jogging over a wide variety of terrain while providing a comfortable ride for your child.
There are 2 basic styles of jogging strollers – swivel front wheel or fixed front wheel. A fixed wheel is easier for jogging. Less effort is needed for steering the stroller and more attention can be paid to the road and your child. On the other hand, strollers with swivel front wheels are much easier to manoeuvre in tight spots. If you want to take your jogging stroller to the shopping mall a swivel front wheel is more convenient.

Many companies offer strollers that allow the swivel front wheel to be locked in position. This offer the best of both worlds – when jogging the wheel can be fixed and when manoeuvring is important the wheel can be unlocked.

Jogging strollers are available in either single or double models. If you have twins or two toddlers the double models are ideal. Again there are 2 styles of double strollers – the seats can be positioned side-by-side or front and back. Some parents find that the front-back arrangement invites hair-pulling, kicking, and other bad behaviour so keep this in mind when choosing a stroller.

In either double or single strollers look for models with a reclining seat. If the seat fully reclines the stroller can be used with newborns although remember that you should not jog with children under the age of 6 months.

Other features to look for are storage areas (either underseat trays or pockets), parking brakes, folding mechanisms, and detachable wheels.
There are many jogging strollers to choose from, so consider your needs and you are sure to find a model that suits you and your child exactly!

About the Author: Linda, mother of two is an inspired author of the http://www.baby-strollers-guide.com/ and the http://www.baby-product-guides.com/

Jogging Stroller for new Moms and Dads

By: Patrick Cash

Since the introduction of the first jogging stroller in the early 1980’s, they have been seen as mainly the choice of the super-fit, ever active parent. But don’t be fooled, jogger strollers aren’t just for serious fitness fans. The stroller’s 41 cm to 51 cm wheels make them more versatile and usable than any other stroller on the market today.

The standard 5 point harness offers advanced safety for the child and will keep them securely fastened in their seat during any sudden stops and bumpy terrain. The suspension system and shock absorbers are also important features of the jogger stroller. Depending on the parent’s need for them, strollers can be found with integral shock absorbers for running and for jogging or walking on rocky ground. But a good suspension system is advisable even if parents only use the stroller on the sidewalk. Without it, cracks and bumps in flagstones can cause a rough ride for baby.

Jogger strollers are, of course, perfect for parents who jog or run. They enable the parent to continue with an exercise program already in place or to create a new one after the birth of baby that will incorporate the child. Many mums worry about the extra weight a pregnancy brings and how they are going to loose it. So this is the ideal way to keep fit, shed the pounds and get out and about with your new baby all in one go. Days out with your baby will be free of maneuverability problems.

Jogger strollers are easy to push on any surface. Anyone who has used a traditional lightweight stroller with smaller wheels will know how hard they can be to negotiate on uneven surfaces, a day at the beach or just walking in parks can be difficult and tiresome. Jogger strollers offer freedom and choice for parents. As with all modern strollers, jogger strollers have washable seats, a canopy, ample storage for baby accessories and come in a variety of shades. Double strollers are also available for parents with more than one child to push. One thing to consider is the stroller’s ability to fold for storage. Parents who want a stroller that fits snugly in their car or who travel frequently will want a quick disassembling, collapsible stroller. These are available, some advanced models offering releasable wheels for extra compactness.

Children from 5 months to 5 years can be pushed in the jogger stroller. Some models with a reclining seat can accommodate babies from 3 months. So parents don’t have to leave their little one behind to get out and get fit. With a jogger stroller parents and baby can carry out their activities together.

For more information including unbiased reviews, please visit our site on Jogging Strollers

Double Strollers: What Do You Really Need?

Is baby number two on the way or are you expecting twins? Then you definitely need a double stroller. Before you begin your search among the countless models that are available, you need to determine what your stroller needs are for your particular lifestyle. For example, it doesn't make sense to purchase the same double stroller your best friend raves about if you're an avid jogger and her favorite hobby is shopping. To help you narrow down the possibilities, answer the eight following questions.

What activities do you need a double stroller for?
Do you do most of your shopping in malls? Do you like to jog or take long walks around the neighborhood in all types of weather? Are you a freqyuent traveler? The activities you do most often will decide what type of double stroller you should choose, whether it be a regular double mall stroller, a lightweight (ex. umbrella) double stroller, a double jogging stroller or a double all-terrain stroller.

Which seating design would best suit your needs?
Double strollers come in two seating designs: tandem (one seat in front of the other) or side-by-side. Both designs have their advantages and disadvantages, so it's important for you to think carefully about what your lifestyle will be like with twins or two children of different ages (although this is not easy to do before actually living through it!).

What are the ages and temperaments of your children?
Your double stroller needs will be slightly different if you're the parents of twins than if you have a baby and an older child. Some double strollers are true twin strollers, meaning they have features that are meant to accommodate two children of the same age, such as the ability to clip in two infant car seats. There are also double strollers that are designed so that a toddler can sit in the front seat where he can have a better view and more legroom while baby brother or sister sleeps comfortably in the fully reclining rear seat.
Many parents find that side-by-side double strollers help keep the peace between children because they prevent arguments about who gets to sit in the front seat. On the other hand, being side-by-side can also create other problems with the two children sitting in such close proximity.

How often are you going to use the double stroller?
If you're only planning on using a stroller for quick errands to the mall a couple times a week, you don't need to purchase a heavy-duty, high-end double stroller with all the bells and whistles. However, if you like going for walks or runs on a daily basis, or if you go out with your children often and for long periods of time, you should consider getting something that is comfortable and durable, since double strollers take twice the abuse of single strollers.

Who will be using the stroller?
Keep in mind the height and stride of the person or persons who will be using the double stroller the most, as well as their physical strength. It's no fun pushing a stroller with a handle that is too low or too high for comfort and neither is folding and picking up one that is cumbersome. It's true that double strollers are heavier and bulkier than single strollers due to their very nature, but there are models on the market that are easier to handle than others.

What features are you looking for?
Do you want a simple, no frills double stroller, or something with lots of comfort, durability and storage space? This brings us back to the types of activities you do most often. It's very disappointing to purchase a stroller and then realize that its features don't meet your needs as well as they could have.

How much space do you have for transporting and storing it?
With a few exceptions, double strollers take up a lot of room. The size of your vehicle may be a big deciding factor when choosing a double model. Make sure it fits! Also, take into account where you will store the stroller at home.

What can you afford?
This is probably the most important question of all. Think carefully of your present and future stroller needs with your two children. What is the minimum you are willing to live with? Can you afford to pay for a higher quality double stroller that will make your life easier in the long run, or are you willing to take your chances with a budget stroller that may break down before you're done using it? For twins, a double universal car seat carrier (stroller frame) is an inexpensive alternative to buying an actual stroller during the infant stage if you're yet not sure what you'll need later on.

Once you've determined what you really need, then you can begin researching the various brands and models that are on the market. You will be able to quickly eliminate double strollers that don't fit your criteria, making the whole process a lot easier and less time-consuming.

About the Author: Anik Giguère-Biollo is the mother of a three year-old girl and one year-old twin boys and has owned a total of eight baby strollers of different types. She offers a great deal of detailed information about choosing and purchasing all types of strollers on her website at http://www.stroller-advisor.com

10 Mistakes in buying a Jogging Stroller (And How To Avoid Them)

One of the most important purchases every new parent must make is a good quality stroller. One of the most popular types of strollers on the market is the jogging stroller. A good, sturdy well built jogging stroller allows mom to get some exercise while the baby gets the fresh air and sunshine he or she needs to thrive. There are some mistakes that many new parents make when shopping for a jogging stroller. Some of the most common are listed below.

Not buying the best stroller you can afford - A cheap stroller is only a bargain if it is sturdy and reliable. Most of the time, paying a little more for the jogging stroller up front will help you ensure that the stroller is a good brand name, sturdy, reliable and of the highest possible quality.

Not buying a convertible stroller - When buying a jogging stroller, one of the best things to do is to buy a stroller which can double as a car seat and a baby carrier. Many of the best jogging strollers feature a snap in car seat and baby carrier, and this allows them to do triple duty. If you purchase a jogging stroller without this feature, you may spend more in the long run buying a separate car seat and baby carrier.

Buying a stroller with not enough storage capacity - It is important that a good jogging stroller have plenty of storage space on the bottom or on the handles. This will allow parents on the go to store frequently used items such as baby wipes, towels or cups and have them all within easy reach

Buying an off brand jogging stroller - While name brand jogging strollers can have quality defects as well, a good quality name brand jogging stroller is much more likely to be sturdy, long lasting and reliable. In addition, a good quality company will be more likely to stand behind their product should something go wrong.

Buying a stroller that does not meet your needs - When shopping for a jogging stroller, it is vital to take all your needs into account. For instance, if you will be traveling by car often, buying a jogging stroller that is easily collapsible for transport is very important. The same holds true for airplane travel. If you plan to travel by plane, be sure to find a stroller that is suitable for that use.

Getting a stroller in the wrong place - A jogging stroller is a major purchase, and it is important that the store at which you buy it be willing to stand behind the purchase in case there is a problem. Be sure to check the reputation of the online or brick and mortar store before making a purchase.

Choosing a stroller that cannot grow with your child - All jogging strollers will come with a rating for maximum weight and size of the child to be transported. The best jogging strollers are those that can grow and adapt with your child. Some of the best jogging strollers can do double duty as infant car seats, toddler car seats, and later even as booster seats for older children. A stroller or travel system that can grow and change with your child is the most cost effective solution for the long run.

Buying the first stroller you see - A jogging stroller is a major purchase, and buying one should not be done on impulse. Buying the first of anything you see is generally a mistake. The best way to go about choosing a quality jogging stroller is to research the various reviews and get recommendations from other parents.

Buying a stroller that is not collapsible - A good jogging stroller should be easily foldable and easy to carry and transport. A jogging stroller that does not fold or collapse will be very difficult to carry from place to place.

Buying a stroller that is poorly made - Quality and safety are the most important considerations when shopping for a jogging stroller. A stroller that is poorly made will not be able to withstand the rigors of regular use.

About the Author:Linda, mother of two is an inspired author of the Baby Strollers Guide and the Baby Products Guide

A Baby Stroller Buying Guide

Submitted By: Chiun Master

Baby strollers help out a lot of parents in taking care of their baby, but be careful when buying one, because if you make the wrong choice, you could end up with a lot of trouble and inconvenience. So how can parents pick the right stroller? Well, you have to realize that different strollers are available for just about any kind of lifestyle. To help you pick one, first consider the main purpose for buying one, and then look for a stroller that’s suitable for your lifestyle and your baby.

Of course, when it comes to your baby, you know that safety is of the utmost importance. It would be wise to check the stability of the stroller, and try it to see if it remains solidly upright even if you hang a heavy diaper bag on its handles. The harness comes next. For babies who might be staying in the stroller for long periods of time, look for a five-point harness. A three-point harness will do fine if used occasionally for short walks outside.

When you find a stroller that seems right, try to walk it yourself for a while to get the feel of it. Check its handling to see if it corners easily, and make sure that your feet don’t hit the wheels when walking. This would come in handy when you have to hurry or maneuver in crowded areas. The height of the handles is also important for your comfort. If you’re tall, getting one with adjustable handle heights will be great for your posture. If you want more comfort, look for foam-covered handles.

Also think about the other features you may need from a stroller. Would you want a basket underneath it to carry the diaper bag? Or perhaps you’d like some trays to help you store and organize food, toys, milk, additional clothes, etc. A lot of these accessories can be bought separately, so fret not if you cannot find any beverage holder in your favorite stroller. Another important thing to consider is how easily you can fold and store it away when not in use.
There are around four common types of strollers available in the market. There are the lightweight strollers, weighing just under 20 lbs. but loaded with such features as storage baskets, reclining seats, and sun shades. These would be excellent for taking your baby on short trips. Standard strollers have bigger seating, storage capacities, and some even have music systems built in. These would be great for almost anything, and parent love the versatility they bring.

If you want to take your baby out while jogging, there are also jogging strollers available. Some parent buy one as a backup for their everyday stroller. Jogging strollers have sturdier wheels, brakes on the handles, and all-terrain suspension systems, which make them ideal for almost any surface. They are not recommended for babies under 6 months old, though. Some new parents who travel a lot also use travel systems, which comes with a standard stroller and an infant car seat that you can easily snap on to the stroller itself. When the infant car seat is outgrown by the baby, you can use the travel system as a standard stroller.

About the Author: Chiun Masters is a writer for http://www.babydoublestroller.com, where you can find high-quality baby strollers. What better way than to multitask, and go for a nice jog every day, while entertaining the young one by getting outside? Ok, so now your ready to start searching for that perfect jogging stroller. So many to choose from. Here are some tips to help you make a wise decision in your purchase. First, you need to evaluate your needs. What type of terrain will you be using the stroller in? Rough, dirt or gravel trails? Or will it be all pavement or concrete? How much can you handle pushing while jogging? What kind of accessories will you need? Now you're ready to get down to the details. There are basically five things you need to consider before making your decision.

1.) Wheels Most likely, your jogging stroller will have 3 wheels(as opposed to the basic 4 wheel design, such as in most Maclaren strollers), two in the back and one in the front. Typically, the larger the wheels are (such as many Dreamer and InStep models), the more comfortable the ride will be. Smaller wheels (such as in You want to look for sturdy, air filled wheels with alloy wheels. They are lighter and won't rust. You'll need to make sure it has a fixed front wheel (one that does not turn) for a jogger stroller. You may be able to find a hybrid that has a swivel front wheel, but will allow you to lock the front wheel when necessary for jogging. But many times this requires the sacrifice of a smaller wheel.

2.) Grip You must be able to adjust the handlebar to your height to have a comfortable jog. A jogger stroller that is not adjusted to your optimal height can lead to health issues down the road. To determine the correct handlebar height for your jogger stroller, stand straight up, arms down, and bring your hands up, bending at your elbows to make 90 degree angles. The distance from the floor to your hands is your optimal height. The handlebar should also include a hand brake and wheel lock for safety.

3.) Durability and Frame Aluminum frames for jogging strollers may be a bit more expensive, but they are lighter and sturdier than the steel frames. You'll want to take into consideration its size vs. the vehicle you have to transport it, and that it is a good size for your child and will accommodate his/her growth in the near future. The key here is sturdy but lightweight.

4.) Suspension This is closely related to the size and type of wheels you are getting. Again, it depends on the terrain you plan on using it on. Rougher terrain equals more suspension, possibly shock absorbers. These are becoming more common in jogging strollers as the need increases for them. These are usually not necessary for normal everyday areas, such as sidewalks and streets. They also can increase the price of the jogger stroller.

5.) Seats Safety is the number one issue here. You will want to make sure the stroller has a 5 point harness to keep your child secure. This is usually standard, but you don't want to overlook this. Canopies that are adjustable are also an important feature to protect the child from the weather. Reclining seats are important for babies to be able to take naps, however they also will not compress to a completely flat position for storing. Overall, the most important question that will determine the build of your stroller will be the terrain. Casual jogging will only require your standard jogger strollers. If you will be trail jogging in rougher terrain, you will typically need to look at more expensive models.

A Double Baby Jogging Stroller Can Keep You Sane

Having a child will change life as you know it. Suddenly you will be putting someone else's needs before your own. Also, you will be putting someone else's wants before your own. Ah ha, it's imperative to remember that part. The truth is you may not already do this with your significant other. I know that it's written somewhere that you're supposed to. Regardless, many individuals do not. They remain selfish and unaware of their partner's needs and wants. Yeah, just ask my husband. He knows all about that. No matter how much I give, I get less than half in return. He claims that it's supposed to be this way. Whatever! Anyway, enough with the personal ranting. When your newborn child arrives, you'd better be ready to give, give, give. That's part of the package. Yikes, I just had a scary thought. What if you have twins? Gees, you'd better be ready to break out the double baby jogging stroller and a whole lot of patience. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

I have no idea what I would have done if I would have had twins. This definitely would have thrown me for a loop. I mean one child is quite a bit, but two would be a handful. That means double of everything. Double dirty diapers, double feeding, double screaming and crying, double napping, and of course double the cost.

Yeah, that darn cost part can really get you. At least you can snag a double baby jogging stroller from the local Babies R Us store. These make things a bit simpler. I can recall one couple that I saw on the news several years back. They had eight babies at once. That must be octuplets or something rather. It was a new record. Wow, I can't even imagine what that lady went through. That would be a serious labor. They wouldn't need a double baby jogging stroller. They'd need a stretch limo stroller. Do they have those yet? Fortunately everyone across the country helped them. They had plenty of aid in the end and did just fine. It's a happy story.

Can you imagine having twins? My mother actually wanted them. She recently told me this. I couldn't believe it because she already had us four boys. That would make six kids. Yikes! I know what it was. She just wanted that double baby jogging stroller. Okay, maybe it had more to do with wanting girls. I can understand that one.

About the Author: Ann Merier has written many articles on family health problems and useful house and garden Topics. Jogging, however, is one activity that can be continued after baby is born.

Thanks to baby jogging strollers Mom and Dad can fit in their exercise routine by combining their jogging with an outing with baby.A baby jogging stroller is instantly recognizable by its 3-wheel design. This makes it suitable for jogging over a wide variety of terrain while providing a comfortable ride for your child.

There are 2 basic styles of jogging strollers swivel front wheel or fixed front wheel.

This offers the best of both worlds when jogging the wheel can be fixed and when manoeuvring is important the wheel can be unlocked.Jogging strollers are available in either single or double models. If you have twins or two toddlers the double models are ideal. Again there are 2 styles of double strollers, the seats can be positioned side-by-side or front and back. Some parents find that the front-back arrangement invites hair-pulling, kicking, and other bad behaviour so keep this in mind when choosing a stroller. In either double or single strollers look for models with a reclining seat.

If the seat fully reclines the stroller can be used with newborns although remember that you should not jog with children under the age of 6 months.Other features to look for are storage areas (either underseat trays or pockets), parking brakes, folding mechanisms, and detachable wheels. There are many jogging strollers to choose from, so consider your needs and you are sure to find a model that suits you and your child exactly!

About The Author: Anita, mother an inspired author of the strollers-guide.com

Tandem Jogging Strollers Revealed

By Hans Dekker On January 31, 2006

Parents of twins or two small toddlers don't need to miss out on the convenience of jogging strollers. Many manufacturers make tandem jogging strollers that provide much of the same convenience as single jogging strollers. Pushing around two children also has the advantage of giving you a better workout!

There are two basic flavours of tandem jogging strollers, the seats can be positioned side-by-side or one in front of the other. The biggest problem with the side-by-side design is their width, they may be difficult to manouver around the grocery store aisles. On the other hand, if your children are seated one in front of the other the one in the back my like to kick and pull the hair of the one in front. This design is much narrower but some parents cant put up with the squabbles that this seating invites. Knowing the temperament of your children will help you to pick the appropriate style.

The other big consideration when buying a tandem jogging stroller is whether the front wheel swivels or not.

Fixed front wheel designs are perfect for serious joggers because they require very little effort to steer on long straightaways. When you have to make a sharp turn, however, the front wheel has to be popped in the air, and this can be a major inconvenience in those grocery store aisles. Swivel front wheels are a good compromise because they can be locked in position for jogging and released when you need to steer around tight spots.

The size of the wheels is also something to consider. 12" wheels are not suitable for rough terrain so if you plan on jogging on grass or gravel get a tandem jogging stroller with at least 16" inflatable wheels.Other features to look for include storages areas, brakes, and covers. Most jogging strollers have a tray under the seats for carrying extra gear, but you may also need pockets for cell phones, keys, and toys.

There should be a hand brake for quick stops when jogging and a parking brake is also convenient. Some jogging strollers come complete with rain covers while others have them available as accessories. Whether or not you need them depends on your climate and jogging habits.
